Rajasaab: Despite criticisms that ticket prices for movies are being increased, and even though both the public and people in the film industry are saying that people are not coming to the theaters because of the increased ticket prices, they are still drastically increasing ticket prices for big films and high-budget movies. A staggering seven films are in the race for Sankranthi. Of these, five are Telugu films, and except for Rajasaab, all the others are family entertainers.

Now, producers are increasing ticket prices even for Sankranthi. Recently, the AP government issued a GO (Government Order) granting permission for a significant increase in ticket prices for the film ‘Raja Saab’. The film ‘Raja Saab’ is releasing on January 9th. They are holding premiere shows the day before.

According to the AP government order, permissions have been granted for the premiere shows of the film ‘Raja Saab’ from 6 PM to 12 AM on the 8th. They have also been permitted to set the ticket price for the premiere at a hefty 1000 rupees. Furthermore, from the 9th onwards, for a period of ten days, they have been allowed to increase ticket prices to 150 rupees in single-screen theaters and 200 rupees in multiplexes. Five shows per day have been permitted for the first ten days.

According to this calculation, the ticket price for the movie Raja Saab will be 297 rupees in single-screen theaters and 377 rupees in multiplexes in Andhra Pradesh. Netizens are criticizing and commenting that ticket prices are being increased so drastically, making it difficult for families to go to the movies during the festival season. With the High Court recently granting permission to increase ticket rates in Telangana as well, the rates for Telangana are expected to be announced today or tomorrow. It seems that any films released this Sankranthi without increasing ticket prices have a high chance of becoming huge successes.
