Shubman Gill’s re-entry date is fixed; he will step onto the field on that day.

Team India’s Test and ODI captain, Shubman Gill, is set to return to the field. Having recovered from his injury, he will play matches before the three-match ODI series against New Zealand, which begins on January 11th. He will be playing for Punjab in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Shubman Gill recently participated in the five-match T20 series against South Africa. However, he was ruled out of the last two T20 matches after sustaining an injury following the third T20 match. At the same time, he failed to secure a place in the T20 World Cup 2026 squad. Now, having recovered from his injury, he will be playing in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to regain his form.

Shubman Gill will play for Punjab in the match against Sikkim on Saturday (January 3rd). He will then also feature in the match against Goa on January 6th. Both matches will be held in Jaipur. Following these two matches, Gill will prepare for the ODI series against New Zealand.

Incidentally, Shubman Gill’s name was included in the Punjab squad announced for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. However, due to injury, he did not play in the first four matches.
